This lighthouse was completed in 1926 and is typical of lighthouses built in this generation. The structure rests on a concrete pier measuring 54 feet by 60 feet by 23 feet high. The lighthouse is a stell framed building encased in 1/4" steel plate. The round cast iron lantern has helical bars on the glass panels. It contains a Fourth Order Fresnel lens probably taken from the Milwaukee Pierhead Light. The building is 53 feet high from the base to the top of the ventilator ball. It produces a focal plane of 61 feet above Lake Michigan. On the right side of the picture one can see a pole light which marks the other end of the breakwater opening.
