Pemaquid Point

This lighthouse was commissioned in 1827 by John Quincy Adams. It was originally built of faulty construction and had to be rebuilt in 1857. It was automated in 1934 and the fog bell removed at that time. The keepers house is now the Fishermen's Museum which is operated by the Town of Bristol, displaying artifacts of Maine lighthouses and the fishing/lobster industry
