Lights

Old 2nd order freznel lens.  This light is about 7 feet across.
Smaller light located in the lighthouse museum in Rockland Maine.
This is a modern Airport style beacon light.
This is what most of the lights in lighthouses look like.  A plastic lens with a small lightbulb inside.
Here are some other pictures of modern lights located at the lighthouse museum in Rockland Maine.
Here is an early prototype of a fog detector for lighthouses.  The top "gun" shoots out a flashing light similar to a flash bulb.  If the bottom sensor "gun" sees the flashing light, then there must be fog and it sends a signal to turn on the fog horn.
